Biography of Romain Liebs
Romain was born in Germany 52 years ago, into a culturally enriched family. His father, a German, theatre, music and language teacher, and his mother, French, a mathematics teacher, transmitted to him from an early age a deep passion for art and knowledge. From a very young age, he showed a natural interest in music, which intensified when his parents moved to Colombia, where from the age of 4 he had the opportunity to immerse himself in the vibrant South American culture and learn, in addition to French and German, Spanish.
At the age of 11, back in Germany, he began to play the guitar, an instrument that became his main passion. At the age of 12, the family moved to Spain, and it was there that his love for music was further consolidated. At seventeen, with great determination and effort, he acquired his first synthesiser, starting in the world of electronic production. Over time, he became the producer of his LP Deepness (1991) on vinyl in the Canary Islands, in addition to collaborating in the realisation of several documentaries and advertisements in this field, as well as in the publication of a Chill Out music album, Feel Light (2006), and other musical works, in addition to a large number of collaborations (for example in Lamat by AmAnA, 2019).
At the age of twenty-two, as a result of his curiosity about the limits of human consciousness and also of his “jaranera” nature, he faced a deep personal crisis in the world of the night and drugs. After that stormy period and going through hell in an overdose, he found in meditation and various philosophies – such as Buddhism – his path to inner peace. Several near-death experiences, including a spectacular paragliding accident, transformed him and led him to dedicate his life more and more to personal and spiritual growth, which culminated in an experience of deep ecstasy, very prolonged, after a retreat with whom he still considers today his great teacher: Eckhart Tolle.
Before that, and after completing his studies, he worked for more than a decade in television in the Canary Islands, working as a director and presenter in music programs on Spanish Television and other media. However, his true vocation was always to share the peace and connection that music, meditation and that illuminating experience had given him. Thus, he decided to focus on teaching meditation techniques and personal growth, combining his passion for music to facilitate states of deep peace and connection in those who listen and accompany him.
This led him to live several times in India, where he expanded his therapeutic and musical skills, learning traditional Hindu singing and Bansuri (Hindu flute). He deepened his skills in the body-mind relationship with Master Goupi in Auroville (south India).
For more than twenty years, he has offered workshops, retreats, individual sessions and concerts, in addition to publishing music in various fields and working on his new portal/application of well-being and mental health (www.real-life-project.com). During the 3 years dedicated to taking care of his father, who suffers from Alzheimer’s, he disciplinedly strengthened and perfected his guitar skills, culminating in the recording of his EP *Moonrise*. This work is dedicated to the silent, unstoppable and gentle expansion of feminine energy in the world, reflecting his commitment to transformation and universal balance.
Today, at 52, with his wife Judith expecting a baby, he continues with his task of inspiring others through music, meditation and personal growth, seeking to promote a more conscious, harmonious existence of inner peace.
